Looks like there’s no hitch to the negotiations for Martinez-Chavez, and it looks like that fight is going forward on 9/15 in Vegas.

Next Fight: Unknown Date- vs. #4 Felix Sturm

Geale’s fight with Sturm is definitely on, but the originally-reported 9/1 date is no longer certain, as they are trying to avoid conflicting with Vitali Klitschko’s next fight.

Rubio’s fight with Cota was postponed until the end of the month at the last minute.

Adama came up short against Geale, but has nothing to be ashamed of.  He frequently took the #1 contender out of his game plan and looked entirely in his league at that lofty level.

Godoy needs a lot of improvement if he’s going to fight his relative peers in the rankings.  He had more than a little trouble with crude and old Carlos Baldomir.

Barely challenged Pirog at all, but has enough mileage left on the Kirkland upset to remain ranked for the moment.

Quillin fought adequately but largely unspectacularly in beating an old, inactive Winky Wright.

 

The Week Ahead: #11 Marco Antonio Rubio’s rescheduled fight with undefeated but untested countryman Jorge Cota should come off this time, in Torreon, Mexico.
