Junior Middleweight: 2011, Nov 28- Dec 4
#1 Saul Alvarez was too much for declining fringe contender Kermit Cintron Saturday in Mexico City. Alvarez was landing thudding shots consistently, while Cintron tried and failed to outbox Canelo until he decided to make a stand in the 5th round. His best moments were at the beginning of that round, when he began to sit down on his punches. But this was his last stand. He was badly damaged from round 4, and knew he didn’t have much left. Canelo turned the tables and started thumping a flagging Cintron until the ref quite appropriately stopped the fight with 7 seconds left.

The Week Ahead: Three fights on Saturday worth mentioning this week, with 5 top-20 fighters involved.
The biggest occurs at Madison Square Garden in New York. #5 Miguel Cotto looks for revenge of his now controversial stoppage loss to current #20 Antonio Margarito. The two clearly hate each other.
On the undercard, we get a rematch of a fight of the year candidate from the summer, as #9 Pawel Wolak and #14 Delvin Rodriguez look to settle the score.
And a few hours before these, #8 Prince Arron takes on one-loss but pretty untested British prospect Brian Rose in Wigan, England.
