#5 Erislandy Lara’s fight with Ronald Hearns ended up a middleweight tilt, so I have given that the full treatment there and won’t go into it here. The other Friday fight didn’t happen at all between Mateo Veron and Guido Pitto.

The weekend’s sole survivor at junior middleweight was Polish prospect Damian Jonak’s bout with Brazilian journeyman Anderson Clayton. Jonak was fairly dominant in winning a 10-round decision.
