No joke. 19) Grigory Drozd (4-17) Last Fight: 12/17/2012- UD12 Jean-Marc Monrose (UNR) Next Fight: 6/8/2013- vs. Unknown Opponent Drozd will apparently be fighting in an unpronounceable Russian town in early June, but no opponent has been named yet. He suffered a hand injury in his last fight, and is on the shelf from training until April. 20) Pawel Glazewski (4-4) Last Fight: 2/23/2013- UD10 Bartlomiej Grafka (UNR) Next Fight: Unknown It was with a bit of regret that I chose Glazewski to assume the #20 spot, as I expect him to campaign around the light heavyweight limit for the foreseeable future.
Finnish gatekeeper Juho Haapoja dropped Georgian journeyman Levan Jomardishvili in the 5th of their fight in Espoo, Finland on Saturday. Jomardishvili rose to beat the count, but then went to his corner, having had enough. The fight was therefore stopped with just 16 seconds remaining in the round.

THE WEEK AHEAD: Argentine fringe contender Alejandro Valori takes on undefeated but untested countryman Marcos Ahumada in Concordia, Argentina on Saturday. Boxrec has the fight listed at light heavyweight. I find that unlikely. Valori always fights at or near the cruiserweight limit, and even Ahumada generally fights a shade over 175. He probably will be a light heavyweight if and when he starts fighting for titles, and I don’t know why a young light heavyweight would want to risk his undefeated record in a non-title fight against one of South America’s two best cruiserweights unless he got some form of weight concession, at least. My bet would be on a catchweight in the mid-180s. With a win, Ahumada could instantly go from an unprovven domestic prospect to an intercontinental force. A Valori win would just enforce the status quo.
