Cruiserweight: 2013, Dec 2-8
Undefeated prospect Dmitry Kudryashov detonated Congolese gatekeeper Zack Mwekassa who, despite mixed results, can still claim a stoppage victory over no less a world-beater than Thabiso Mchunu. Kudryashov needed just 50 seconds. Kudryashov is fast building a case as the biggest puncher in the division. This victory may very well have earned the Russian a ranking, except that he came in a half-pound over the divisional limit, and is thus technically ineligible for consideration, considering this is his only top 50 win. It will be considered fully (or nearly so) if and when he adds to it while making weight, but not yet.
Wlodarczyk will see action in the US for the first time since 2005 on December 6, fighting a trilogy bout with the rapidly aging Italian Giacobbe Fragomeni in Chicago.

THE WEEK AHEAD: Chicago plays host on Friday to a trilogy bout between #4 Krzysztof Wlodarczyk and #9 Giacobbe Fragomeni. But don’t be confused by the similar rankings. Wlodarczyk is the prohibitive favorite, as Fragomeni needed perhaps a bit of undue deference from the judges to emerge from his two razor-thin fights with the ancient Silvio Branco.
