Saturday in Cancun, gatekeeper Silverio Ortiz apparently dominated and stopped normally very good journeyman Jorge Silva. Silva gave absolute hell to both Yoshihiro Kamegai and Alfredo Angulo. For such a watchable matchup, I’m surprised that no video can be found. Despite his street cred, Silva hadn’t achieved enough to help Ortiz’s standing much.

The Week Ahead: Randall Bailey- a top 10 contender recently removed for inactivity- will take care of that problem this week against Humberto Toledo, an experienced but fairly low-level Ecuadorian journeyman, in Tampa.
But of course the big one is in Macau, China, where #3 Manny Pacquiao will look to return to his old form against Brandon Rios, a roughly top-5 contender at 140 who will be moving up. The fight will happen on Sunday local time, but will be broadcast live on PPV Saturday evening in the US.
