Middleweight: 2012, Jun 4-10
#20 Peter Quillin won a fairly average decision over former Junior Middleweight Champion Winky Wright on Saturday. Boxrec’s rating system places Wright squarely in the category of journeyman. My sense is that Wright is a bit better than that, but the truth is that he has not won a fight in 5 1/2 years, and so it probably would be a mistake to improve Quillin’s rating based on beating him. Accordingly, no changes this week.
Next Fight: 9/15/2012- vs. Unknown Opponent
Sergio has signed a contract to fight the Chavez-Lee winner, with 9/15 being the tentative date. Recent news indicates that the contract is non-binding, but would lead to Chavez being stripped of his alphabet title if he dishonors it. It also provides that if Lee wins, that fight would be in Argentina.

The Week Ahead: Several likely one-sided matchups on tap for this weekend. Friday in Montreal, once heralded prospect David Lemieux once again looks to right the ship against low-level Mexican journeyman Jaudiel Zepeda after losing his last two fights.
The same night in Culiacan, Mexico, normally junior middleweight fringe contender Saul Roman takes on journeyman Alfredo Contreras.
The action stays south of the border on Saturday, as two notable Mexican fighters see action in Chihuahua. #11 Marco Antonio Rubio fights somewhat unproven prospect Jorge Cota, while one-loss prospect Marcos Reyes fights journeyman Octavio Castro on the undercard.
